Talk about the kind of strip that makes a guy who doesn't fly very much feel comfortable about jumping on a cross-country flight, eh?! Well, I suppose it beats walking...
Today's strip was inspired by the fact that tomorrow, actually, I will be boarding an airplane myself to fly up north for Lori's wedding. That's right, the artist behind this very comic strip is getting hitched next weekend, so if you haven't gone shopping for wedding gifts yet ... welcome to my world! I do have a layover in Atlanta tomorrow afternoon, so I'm sure to find something that she'll just love in one of those swanky, over-priced tourist traps in the airport. Either that, or Sky Mall always seems to have some neat stuff.
Forget it - too complicated - she's getting a toaster. Try not to ruin the surprise, will ya?
But in other news, I know I promised a new present for all of you MySpace fanatics, but between preparing myself for the trip and whatnot, it's not quite where I want it yet and I'm a perfectionist, so I won't be ready to post it until it's, well, perfect! Also, somehow our number of friends actually dropped since last week, so you might also consider this a bit of punishment ... whoever you are! Get some more friends to add us and I'll think about hurrying up your little "gift" ... because what better way to serve your fans than through extortion???
I'm off to continue packing, although we pretty much all know that likely I'll be packing right up until I leave for the airport tomorrow afternoon. If anything, it should definitely make for an interesting journey - let's just hope that Mark's little incident this week doesn't happen to me, too! Next week's strip will be brought to you live from the reaches of Northern Michigan, meaning that Lori and I will actually be sitting in the same room when it gets created, which should be fun because as far as I can remember, that's never actually happened before! Look for crazy antics to ensue...
